Himalaya Bakery & Cafe Introduction

When the original bakery opened in 1992, we wanting to create something special, we made only sour dough Organic and Biodynamic bread using our own leaven. At the time we were the only Biodynamic certified bakery in Victoria.

Not willing to compromise on quality we use only the best ingredients we can find.

Over time we expanded our range to include pies, pastries our chunky meat pie in red wine sauce and chicken pie in white wine sauce (made with chicken thigh fillets).

We have also introduced a range of gluten free / vegan / sugar free cakes.

Over the years our range increased, using recipes created by the master baker.

When a fire destroyed the bakery in July 2005, it took a Year and a half  to rebuild and expand our business.

When we re-opened in December 2006, the new bakery featured 100% more shop front area with inside dinning for 24 and additional seating outside during the summer. A  larger sales area has allowed us to expanded to become a bakery cafe.

The wood used for the tables and counter tops was made locally from recycled timber.

We have been told that the bread is even better now, since we reopened.

Wireless internet is available just ask our staff for the network key. So just bring your wireless laptop and check your email while enjoying some of the best Organic coffee in the area, while indulging in a piece of cake that just begs to be eaten or a bit for lunch.
